New Owly Cafe, nestled at 1150 Douglas St in Victoria, BC, stands out as a cozy haven for food lovers. Customers consistently praise the cafe's inviting atmosphere and cleanliness, with Perla Chavez noting the "efficient" staff and delightful frappuccino for a great value. Specialty lattes, like the matcha and turtle mocha, captivated M Park, perfectly paired with their scrumptious honey-glazed pork and rodeo meatball bao, ideal for a chilly day.
Elle Raven calls it a "hidden gem," applauding its accessibility and consistency in taste, especially raving about the pork bao, which she deems the best in Victoria. Flora Michaels echoes this sentiment, recommending the revitalizing baos alongside rose tea and honey latte, painting the cafe as a sweet and cozy retreat.
While service may be a bit slow, as noted by Alan Zheng, the quality and friendliness of the staff make it worthwhile. New Owly Cafe is not just a place to grab a quick bite, but a spot to savor delightful dishes and warm hospitality. If you’re in Victoria, this charming cafe should definitely be on your radar!

Delicious and fun specialty lattes! Had the matcha latte and turtle mocha and both were fantastic. Honey glazed pork and rodeo meatball bao were the perfect treat on a cold, busy day. Very sweet and hard working staff as well. Not much room to sit inside, but our to-go orders were packaged nicely and were easy to snack on the go

We love this little hidden gem of a cafe. We walk by often & find myself going back again & again. It’s wheelchair accessible as it’s located at the bay centre entrance on view street. The food & drinks are consistently delicious. We almost always get the pork bao — my fav bao in Victoria so far! Also love the cute family that run it! Great spot, highly recommend

Yummy BAOS and owner was friendly. Cute little place. Service is slower though as it is a one man show so if you are in a hurry it may not be the best spot. But I’d come back again based on food quality and friendly service

Cute place! Bao sandwiches did not disappoint - incredibly tasty and they have excellent coffee too. Seating is limited but it’s a cute spot to stop by for a quick bite.

Not pretentious. Exactly what it says: great coffee. Great Chinese buns. Good prices. Wonderful experience.

We've passed this place multiple times during our short time in Victoria. We decided to head there since we love the cute owl logo. We got the irish cream chocolate flakes latte, and turtle mocha. Both were great and the whipped cream was thick and rich. The chocolate flakes were flavourful and tasted fresh. We enjoyed our short time there and we saw how the owner (?) built a relationship with his regulars. It was a refreshing experience. You might feel overwhelmed with the size of the menu but you will definitely find something you'd like so take your time.
